Petrus 2019 Magnum

The 2019 Pétrus displays a potent and aromatic profile, exuding scents of raspberries, cassis, violets, spices, licorice, and kirsch. With its full-bodied, multi-layered character and abundant fruit core, complemented by lively acidity and velvety tannins, it finishes with a liqueur-like quality. This ripe and powerful Petrus showcases the impact of a dry, warm growing season, utilizing predominantly Merlot grapes from clay soil.
Medium to deep garnet purple colour, reveals crushed black cherries, plums, blackberries and cedar with hints of anise, lavender, thyme and stony ground. From medium to good body, it fills the palate with lush layers of blue, black and perfumed fruits that contrast with very ripe, very fine tannins that end in a long and mineral finish.
