Château L'Eglise Clinet, 2019

€579.75

Denis Durantou, the masterful winemaker, crafted remarkable and age-worthy wines at this estate from 1983 until his untimely passing in 2020. Ever since the breakthrough 1985 vintage, the wines from this domain have consistently outperformed the leading Pomerol names in blind tastings at Southwold and other venues.
The 2019 harvest was his last one, and it proved to be one of his finest accomplishments.
Cultivated from 40-year-old vines, the grapes were picked at the perfect ripeness, never allowing them to overstay their moment, and only with the wisdom of old harvesting ways and exceptional terroir. Château L'Eglise Clinet’s approach to wine-making is both inspired and true to tradition.
