The origins of Château Gazin date back to 1772, when the Pomerol vineyards were bought by Antoine Feuilhade. Before the lands were planted with vineyards, they were used to build a hospital. Over the years, Château Gazin was sold and resold to numerous owners before it was bought by the current owners, the Bailliencourt family in 1946.

The vineyard of Château Gazin is quite unique in the region since its vineyards are planted on a single plot. This is unusual for Pomerol, where many of the vineyards consist of non-contiguous plots.
