In 1974, one hundred years after the creation of Cristal, Jean-Claude Rouzaud created the cuvée Cristal Rosé, selecting old Pinot Noir vines, located in the best terroirs of the Grand Cru de Aÿ, today grown in biodynamic agriculture. Taking an exquisite minerality from the exclusive calcareous soil of this terroir, these grapes are distinguished by reaching, in the great years, an extraordinary maturity associated with a crystalline acidity.

Despite the fact that Louis Roederer Cristal stands out for its scarcity, he fails to rival Cristal Rosé, whose tiny production makes it a legendary champagne unanimously considered by critics as the best Pink Champagne in the world.

Cristal Rosé is produced by film maceration, which consists of macerating Pinot Noir grapes in the press to extract their fruity and beautiful salmon pink colour. For this, very concentrated and aromatic grapes are necessary, which come from the best Grands Crus vineyards of Louis Roederer, only in exceptional vintages.

56% Pinot noir - 44% Chardonnay, of which 15% wine-wineed wines in wood (oak tones) with a weekly bazuqueo. No malolactic fermentation. The Cristal Rosé cuvée has an average of 8 years of maturation in cavas, in addition to an 8-month rest after degorgement, in order to perfect its maturity.
